I have been going to Palo Alto House of Bagels for over 20 years and I live in the East Bay. They make the best bagels and the people who leave lousy reviews have major issues and need to be disregarded. This place is great!

The only bagel place around the bay area that actually cooks their eggs on a flat top grill. Every other place uses a microwave to cook their eggs....

Stumbled upon this bagel place just as I was having a craving! I only tried one bagel, but instantly fell in love and will be coming back. They have tons of variety ranging from different flavors, regular sized bagels and even mini bagels! Give this place a try!

So you know how, in Look Who's Talking Now, and so many other iconic 90s movies, there is this "scrappy white guy voice" doing an inner monologue for basically every character? Well, the second I open this sandwich and see the perfectly striated layers of vegetable and thick sun-dried tomato shmear, that voice starts lighting up inside my head: "Oh yeah!! Yeah baby!! That's what I'm talking about!!" Because that is how much of a bagel dork I am and how long it has truly been since I enjoyed a sandwich this good. Five stars.

05/08/24 This shop has been our go-to bagel shop for years. There are fresh bagels until closing time, and lots of spreads. They also carry some desserts like muffins and slices of cake. Prices: Bagel Sandwiches (eg, pastrami w sprouts, lettuce & tomato slices) cost $11 +/- but it was filled w lots of pastrami & fresh vegetables. A bagel w cream cheese (I had jalapeño cream cheese) was only $4.85. Individual bagels: $2 each; a dozen bagels $22. Sorry, no bagel slicer. Lots of parking. Indoor & outdoor eating.

One thing House of Bagels has going for it is that it is consistently great. This location is no exception. The service is always on point and the bagels are really excellent, Yeah yeah NY this NY that. You know what I prefer our West coast versions be it pizza or bagels. It was that tweener time before lunch having gotten a late start so I went with an everything bagel sandwich with roast beef. The bagel had just the right amount of stuff on the top with just the right amount of schmear. The roast beef was fresh with just the right amount of pink and the fixing were fresh and plentiful. Not much more you can ask from a bagel place!
